director, pr & communications (consultant) - transpose technologies

Led and advised all PR/Communications strategies on a consulting basis for Transpose, a 7-person startup based in Seattle. My primary focuses include media relations, press outreach, thought leadership, positioning the founding team, and identifying business development and partnership opportunities. Additionally, I acquired a corporate sponsorship opportunity for the company this year through Techstars’ "Global Startup Battle" and managed the opportunity from inception to final reporting.

communications lead, startup women co-founder - up global

While at UP Global, I led all Communications efforts both internally and externally. My primary duties included managing media relationships, supporting the blog as editor-in-chief, writing thought leadership content and white papers, producing written assets for corporate partners, developing internal communications strategies and messaging guidelines, and supporting our newsletters and email campaigns. Additionally, I had the opportunity to write and acquire two grants for UP Global, totaling over $175,000. These grants allowed me to co-found and manage the “Startup Women Initiative,” which aimed to increase female participation and voice in all of our events and communities around the world.

As a specialist on the Corporate Communications team, my responsibilities included writing, editing, and distributing company related articles, blog posts, and branded content. I also managed our company-wide intranet by publishing and tracking metrics for daily articles that were distributed among Nordstrom's 60,000+ employees. On a project basis, I supported PR crises at the corporate level as well as the production and management of press releases.
